If you are new here, welcome to notes from Le Chassaing. We have seen some amazing progress 2026.
It’s been a busy few years. I am delIghted to report that we have a new barn roof and a mostly decorated house. Its amazing progress and we are delighted to be moving forwards. The decorative work inside the farmhouse needs further upgrading, but for now, the house is comfortably cool in the summer and snuggly warm in the winter.

Now that the barn roof is completed we are focusing our renovating time on the barn interior. A new floor inside the barn will provide us with direct access to the back garden and patio area.

WORKSHOP
We intend to create an outdoor kitchen area in the barn. It will make the whole apero experience much more convivial. Then we can invite more guests to join us in tasting fabulous drinks and food while also taking part in general chatter. Our main discussions being getting the best out of countryside living, renovating and bimbling about in France.
There is a new member of the Notes From Le Chassaing Team – Archie the GSP (German Short Haired Pointer or in french ‘Braque Allemand’). He is enjoying our adventures.

In between renovations we are enjoying exploring France and further afield in Europe so we bought ourselves a on old VWT4 Camper van. We even went skiing in the alps in January!
