We got up bright and early to enjoy the Palace of Versailles. An extra birthday treat for Eric. Audio tour and skip the queue tickets. A full day out with family followed by a lovely evening meal in Paris.
It was inspiring to see the magnificent architecture, art, and interiors on display and to learn about the history of the palace. There was plenty of exercise to be had walking around the splendid gardens. In the winter the fountains are switched off so you don’t get the full effect in February. Definitely worth a summer revisit with a picnic by the water. We all loved wandering through the palace without crowds of people. It’s a must-see tourist attraction.
